Solar Cycle 24 in waiting mode!

Well 10 meters still is somewhat dead. Sporadic-E is the only thing keeping it going. Solar Cycle 24 is finally starting to build and there are now days the there are constant sunspots and the SSI is no longer a big zero. We had snow move into GA last night and been working on Georgia's 900mhz ham radio infrastructure. We did the 900mhz thing in the past and it seems to be heading the same way.

A little time on my hands

Ok I have been working on getting KJ4NCC the clubcall bars going. We are at 100 so far but have about 300 more to log. I have been playing poker with my buddies online and did not get around to it tonight so maybe tomorrow. I just checked my email again and saw some new emails about the awards program. Since the 100 proof award has not been voted on we might kick it up to 151 contacts for a 151 proof award. I need to get back with the others that would need to vote on this so maybe this weekend would be the soonest. Also please make note that the hurricanes could be moving into the SE region. They may not be directly in the area but winds could be bad. I remember we had one of these off the coast of GA a few years back and the winds were at 40 mph to 50 mph even though we were not getting rain or anything like that but the wind destroyed alot of antenna's. I hope the Braves win this game. On another note the sun now has been blank for over 38 days. May need to pull the Royce I-642 back out for rest of the year. Kinda miss it. We have been working lots and lots of 17 meters though. No additions were made to the M&M website. Not really much to report this week yet.

New awards that do not exist.

OK We have had apps for some chapter awards that do not exist. Bad way to handle things! Ok I have a great deal for you but send me $1000 and we will get back to you later on this great deal. This is what this looks like. The chapter also needs to let everyone know that a valid M&M contact is only if you have a valid M&M number. You can't go back to 2003 and pull a member that does have a valid M&M number. It like going back in time before YOU had a 10-10 number and say o I worked this guy back in 2003 but my 10-10 number was issued in 2007. 10-10 frowns on this bigtime and if they could throw you out they would. JUST LISTEN to what is going on with the chapter. We want to make everyone have a fun time and enjoy what they are hearing and doing on 10 meters. We are trying to promote 10 meters and good operating practices which is a far cry from what I have been hearing out of Texas and Oklahoma on 28.400mhz.

Rules and Regulation of Awards

Ok this has come up twice in 2 days. There was a mention on Saturday Nights 10-10 Chapter Net that we will have a new award coming in the future called the "100 Proof Award" My chapter manager Rick WD4ABO has received 2 applications for this non-existing award. When you check into the Saturday Night Net "LISTEN!" see what is going on and then see whats available. There is a strick set of guidelines that are found under the awards/certificate page. Please follow the rules.
